How much meat is there in that spindle? Is the 25/27 6 bolt hub pattern the same as a 30? If it is then your axles would fit the hubs off a 30 so just get the spindles and hubs of the front of a postal jeep or someone parting out a 30 because I know they will fit through 30 spindles.
How much needs to come off the spindles to get the axle through? I can bore them out.

yeah the pattern is the same.it would take very little to bore them out ,then all i would need is to have some axles made up.

the prob with the 30 stuff is that they would widen the axle whitch i don't want to do.

don't get custom axles made. use 30 spline dana 60 full floater axle shafts and have the ends cut off and resplined for you. swap out your 19 spline spiders for 30 spline spiders

hunt down Oxjockey on this board for info on boring out spindles, he's found a cheaper soloution than most have.

Wellll, I used an adjustable reamer to ream out 30 spline D60 spindles that were still on the axle. In my case, the spindles have the same dimensions for the 30 or 35 spline axles, as found on POR.

However, follow Jump150's advice on your other thread, he used my D60 FF shafts and had them cut & resplined.

okay how bout i use the 60 shafts cut em down and respline to keep the 19 spline count? and ream the 25/27 spindles.i'm okay with the 19 spline , my main objective is to rid myself of the tapered axles and drums.

 well i just thought about what i just asked and can answer that question myself.no i can't use the 25/27 spindles because the o.d. on them is 1.5" the same as the 60 axles.
sooooooooo.......what spindle do i use that won't widen the axle and allow me to use the jeep 7/8" rotors and chevy backing plates that i already have?

30 spline D60 axle shafts are 1.31", FYI.

The 60 FF axles are smaller than 1.31 anywhere but the splines but the flange pattern won't fit anything you can bolt on. The only wheel hub tha the 60 FF flange bolts to is a 60 wheel hub and the spindles would have to be welded on.
What do you meen the 30 stuff will widen the rear? If it does it is very little. I ran that setup and it seemed very close to stock width.
Like I said though I can put the 25/27 spindles on the lathe and bore them out with the boreing bar. It is jst a matter of finding the time to do it if that is what is needed.

There is add some and fixed most of the stuff that made no sence.

okay,i was thinking that jump150 was saying that with using the 30 stuff he ended up three inches wider.but in rereading his info i see that he made spacers to go wider.

thanks ox i was thinking that all 60 axles were1.5". i guess i need to search a little more and come up with what rigs have the 30 spline 60s. thanks for getting me on the right track.

dean it looks like i would be safe boring the 27 spindles if the clearance is kept to a minimum.if you could find the time to do it,that would be great. if the 60 eight bolt axles won't match my six bolt hubs, whats the point? seems like i need custom shafts:confused: .

66cjdean: dude, did you just losea finger? I had to read your post twice just to figure out what the hell you were talking about:flipoff2:

the point was, you can use the FFd60 shafts which do have rolled in splines, but are 1.31 inchis in diameter. he doesn't have to use the end flanged because he can cut them off and have them tapered to the 1.25" 19 spline pattern on his outer hubs. the reason you use the 60 shafts is because they are long enough to cut down to fit in the narrow cj housings.

i think i need to delete all my threads on this subject and start over:eek: .
i am so freakin confused:confused: . the 19 splines that i want to keep are on the diff side not the outers.
i don't want to use locking hubs.
i want a full floater:D .like this one;http://www.off-road.com/jeepster/jeep64.jpg
not like this;http://www.off-road.com/jeepster/jeep14.jpg.

I right hand went wild on that last post. I went back and fixed it and add some.

What is the time frame to get the spindles done?
I am only home on weekends but If I could get them this weekend I can get them done during the week and get them back to you next weekend.

okay, tell me if i get this right.
i need dana 30 spindles.
and this www.4wheelparts.com/product2.asp?imseqn=674&occlass=WARNDR&cat=Drivetrain
get some 60 shafts, have the flanged end cut off, respline to 27spline to match hubs.
change spiders to 30spliners to match 60 shafts.
attach my 7/8" rotors to the new hubs, use my chevy backing plates and calipers.
did i get it this time:eek:

change spiders to 30spliners to match 60 shafts.

You'll need a 30 spline D44 carrier.

bryan,if i went that route could i just change the side gears to the 30 spliners or would i have to change the whole carrier.
