well i call the bank to get a heads up on a loan...guess what they wont lend me money for a car thats over ten years old...great...

then i get a statement from my father telling me that I am going to buy my own vehicle and pay for my own insurance...which im fine with but he wont let me work more than 25 hours a week...so what the hell?? anywho, the statement is from the dreaded PEMCO insurance..and they say that they wont even ensure a young driver for a sammi from 86 on...because"young kids drive to fast and crazy thinking they are invinceable with the 4wd and then they tip the truck"....well thats a good point but that sammi wouldnt realistically go over 65...cant they make more specific policies? goddamn!

so its back to the first plan...toyota's..something in a 92 or newer at a decent price....got any out there?

go to the insurance company and find out what is the cheapest 4x4 to insure for what you can aford and by it , at least you get to WHEEL.

First thing to do is get over it, like it was said before, if you have to get a loan for a zuk......it is too expensive for you!

Hey i was in the same boat. Last summer i was 16 and wanted a truck or sammy real bad. I saved all summer and in the fall this year a bought a 1979 Toyota pickup which was stock. And now i have changed everything on except the frame and motor. 5.29s, lockright front, detriot rear, 35 MTRs, allpro cross over, flatbed, 85 frotn axle, 88 rear, and lots of other crap. And i did that all while working at texaco and going to school. Just save up and dont waste your money on gay shit. I love my truck and im glad that i bought it stock. Get something and just have fun. We all started some where.

If you can't afford a sammi, you won't be able to afford a toyota, much less mod it. I dumped my 4runner because I can build a very capable zuk for a little more than a SAS on a toyota will cost.

I wish my dad pulled that on me. Silly me I didnt realize i should be "trying" to get good grades till 3rd year of college and luckily made somthing of myself. I tried to work a regular job to pay for the "toys" that all my slacker non-college friends all had with their Mcky D jobs...(Not hard to do living at home....)

Find some friends in the area go offer to help fix thier junk in exchange for free rides. Get a cheep beeter car for now...

In a few years you will have all the toys you want and more......

I've got a 92' zuke, a 01' F-250 psd etc... to pull it, and a house with garage to put it all....and i'm sure many out there can do better than my story !

WTF, man I had a SJ410 @ 15. Bought it for 500 bucks cause it had a missing frost plug in the head.

Talk to the insurance company and see whats up. If that doesn't work find another insursnace company.

You don't need to buy a spring over rig with all the bells and whistles right away. I had as much fun with my 410 as i do with my Kick with the Calmini suspension lift. Good things come in time.

Buy a rig for 500-750 and build it on pay cheque at a time like the rest of us.

I like the Toyota 4Runner. Even stock, that thing is up in the air. They have a lot of aftermarket parts for it also to make it more off road capable.

no no no..i got it set up now...i will eventually own a sammi but today i got a new job and it pays well(plus i work full time)
insurance for a sammi is out of the question so i found a good truck to work on..a 94 toy dx 4x4 with 70,000 miles and 31" gf's on it..all for 4000..i figure i can swing that so its all good now...sorry for all the b*tching! i just dont like people in suits..
