Will a dana30 carrier with 410 gears out of a XJ fit in a YJ HPdana30 with same gears?

the differential will. Is the XJ a HPD30 as well? I know you can't put regular gears in a HP carrier.
You will have to check your backlash and gear pattern.
Are you swappin gears as well or just the differential?

I'm asking just about the carrier....I'm swapping gears and wanted to know if the xj carrier will fit in a yj axel. The new gears will be 456 reverse rotation. The carrier out of the xj has 411 gears. Are the carriers the same?

i believe it should, not sure if the carrier changes at 4.10 or 4.56 with the d30. Only problem with the swap youve proposed is you will still have an open carrier in the front :flipoff2:

Carriers will be the same. Look at it this way, a full case locker is the same for a LP30 or a HP30. It's the gears that are different.

this is a temporary fix until i can afford a OX locker.

The carrier split is 354/373...
