I have a 2005 Dodge 3500 CTD 4x4. It has the 2" leveling kit on it. I haul Bobcats and mini excavators almost every day. Loads are from 9,000lb to 14,000 lb. The truck is NOT a dually and does not have a gooseneck.
I have Toyo's Open Country and am not very happy with them, they just do not last.
I live where there is snow, sometimes alot of snow. I drive in the dirt everyday. Think logging roads in all seasons.
Thanks,
E

What kind of terrain do you spend most of your time on? pavement? off road? This will make a big difference on tire recommendations.

step up to 19.5s and im sure youd be much happier with the life of the tires in that situation

I just bought a set of Nitto Dura-grapplers, so I can't speak to how long they last, but they ride better and have way more traction than the passenger all-terrains that were on it before, especially considering that they're a load range E.

Every lug has 3 sipes on it, too. I'm curious to see how well they do on ice.

What tires would you guys recomend?
Thanks,

The Toyo AT's don't last on heavier trucks, too soft of compound. I've had really good luck with M55's, stiffer sidewall too. My friend has had good luck with BFG rugged trail, he's getting 50K a set and tows a 5K trailer every day. I prefer the M55's on mud and gravel, for pavement I would think about the rugged trails since they are a bunch cheaper.

I like the Michelin LTX M/S that are on my F350, and my dad has the same on his F350 dually (different size though).

The drawback is that they are a bit pricey.

I'm running Pro comp Extreme all terrains, and so far I like them. The ones I am running are load range D, but I know they make them in E as well.

I'm extremely pleased with the Michelin LTX tires on my tow rig. Great handling, cool running, outstanding wet road & snow traction, and still look brand new with 11K on them. I wouldn't go wheeling with them, but that's not what I bought them for either.

we run these on out 1ton CC dually dont take the time to rotate and still no show of bad wear ride great do awesoem on snow and ice. had BFG AT's before and thought they would be so much worse off in snow but not bad. all depends on what you need truck for. loved the AT's but these are great road tires
