While checking out my rig for this Saturdayīs run, I found that my ARB air compressor was not working. I checked over the wiring and saw that the 04 pole relay and connector were burnt and melted...:(
1) Can I use any 04 pole relay and connector or is there something special about the ARB unit??
2) Why would this happen?? Will it happen again??
Many thanks from an electrical retard...:p

Don't know why it would happen except for a direct short or excessive resistance.
YES, you can use any old relay! there is nothing special about the ARB unit.

Since I didnīt bring the little fawker to work with me, I donīt know what to pick up at the auto-parts store...
Anyone know off-hand what type / amp of relay I need to buy for an ARB compressor??
TIA

Any old standard relay. It can have one or two ouputs IIRC, even tho the compressor only requires one.
Just get any cube relay which they sell for lights, etc. Should have all the standard markings, 85, 87, 87a, 30, and 86? IIRC.
Should be $2-5 at any parts house
