Today I found some rod ends painted olive drab in a supply place that deals mostly in surplus. I'd like to use them in my three link rear, but I don't know what they're rated for, or made of, or all that other good stuff. Number is EA42202, Torrington. The housing number is 1159520 to the best I can tell, and is forged. Bore is 3/4", threads look to be around 1" for about an inch. Also has a manila tag with another manufacturer and part number (mil ID?). The ends are in great shape, and the price is pretty good, but my FJ is soon to be a daily driver and I can't have the ass end falling out. <IMG SRC="smilies/ghost.gif" border="0">

Military part numbers (NSN - National Stock Numbers) are in a standard format 1234-00-567-8901, or if it's real old just 1234-567-8901 The 00 was added in the '70's when they ran short on numbers every thing is 00 or 01. Most parts come through with the manufacturer's part number, rather than a NSN. If I can remember, on monday I'll try to cross reference the PN to see what they came from. <IMG SRC="smilies/usa.gif" border="0">
