Seems to run fine. But when I get up around 30 mph and above I hear unnatural sounds comming from the drivetrain.

I'm guessing that I need to change out the differencial fluids, both front and rear. What else?

It's a 97 TJ with a rubicaon express 2' lift. I used a 12 pack of budweiser (the case it came in) and put it around my K&N air filter with the handle facing up. Seems like the motor did not injest any water.

That video brings the stupid.

"turn it off....keep it runnin'!"

(while motor can be heard cranking fine in background) "let it sit, we'll pull the plugs out of her and turn it over a few times"

I'm glad you noticed that. And you people wonder why I don't use any of my buddies as spotters. :grinpimp:

Axles, tranny, tranfere case, eng. oil, u-joints etc. and you will be paying for that for a long time(wheel bearings too):D
If you have "noises" NOW, you are already screwed :shaking:

Yeah, what he said. Plus, while you're under the Jeep, check for any pieces of mother nature you might be dragging around.

I don't know how I ever thought doing that was fun. But back when I was 18 it seemed like fun at the time. But driving into a muddy water hole is 1) Not fun and 2) Just plain stupid.

With rocks, the damage is immediate instead of replacing every seal and bearing over the next 12 months.

awfully hard core playing in muddy water with a 2 inch lift. although i do like the 12 idea for a filter shroud.:flipoff2:

What specifically should I be doing right now? The noises went away. But I still want to change all the fluids. Would you suggest I switch to synthetic fluids?

I'm a member of the USCG-A and about once every four years we have to help someone who was screwing around in the flooded areas and got himself stuck. So I need to take one of the jeeps as close as possible, then drop a little recue boat in. aka: I'll be getting wet again.

So what can I do to suit up for the occasion?

Thanks

Yeah, this is about what I expected.

Better question: Where can a guy go to get these questions answered?
