EDIT: FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT KEEP ASKING WHAT THE DATE IS - you should know by now, already have the time off work, and be handing out flyers to anyone who uses public lands....if all else fails, just follow the links

I have this map and info in a WORD doc. If you want it e-mail me and I'll send it to you....or you can Click Here (http://www.crowley-offroad.com/Downloads/LosAngelesRouteMap.rtf) to download it (rtf format)

STAGING AREA – circled in Blue -- North Garey St
From Staging area to Parade route – Yellow -- along Temple (approx. .5 miles)

Parade Route – Blue -- from Temple go Right on N. Main, Left on Arcadia, Left on N Spring St, Left on Temple, Left on N. Main – the route circles the Building housing Boxer’s Office (Purple Square)

Optional Loop – Green – Depending on the number of vehicles, we can just make the circle bigger as needed

Plan is to be at the Staging area at 11:30…organize, set up banners, Flags, etc…

DEPART STAGING AREA AT 12:00 NOON SHARP

Circle the route in a slow manner for approx 30 minutes –

At approx 12:30 have a few people hand deliver the petition to Boxers office, while the rest continue to parade around the route.

After the “representatives” deliver the petition, they will return to their vehicles, parade for a few more laps, then lead the parade back to the staging area… we’ll figure regroup and everyone can remove their banners, flags, etc, and depart the area in a Peaceful Manner

FOR THOSE WISHING TO PARK VEHICLES – There are parking lots on just about every corner in the area, most are about $4 for the day, A couple I spotted are - 4th & Main; 2nd & Hill; Alameda & 1st;
Side street parking (metered) is available near 1st & Rose, as well as other areas…

Moe info can be found at: http://www.crowley-offroad.com/Snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=686

YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE LOS ANGELES AREA FLYER TO PASS OUT TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW, AS WELL AS SHOPS, STORES, AND CAR DEALERSHIPS BY CLICKING HERE (http://www.crowley-offroad.com/Downloads/LosAngeles.rtf) (rtf format)

I saw this at the top and hoped there were some pics of the rally...

how many people ya got?

I was talking to a park ranger the other day about Wilderness areas..trying not to get pissed at the guy..

I told the guy "you'd love it if every place in Moab was wilderness forcing all the tourists and economy out of here wouldn't ya. And your son could work at the only gas station left and your wife could work the other shift."
he acctually laughed and said YES..

so I said "Ya know I have just as ,uch say as anyone over this Wilderness BS, and I'll say one thing, if ya want to make all this wilderness area - I want NOONE in there - all roads blocked."

no gov officials - firefighters or anything..

THEN he changed his tone..he was like "well, we need to go in there and monitor.." I said WHAT?

and he was saying we can't just let the land burn if lightning hits..I said that thats natural - like wilderness..

then I told him he is a idiot, and got pissed and had to leave.

anyways - kick asss at the rally - wish I could go

1) As far as I can tell, I'm the only one who asked what date it was. Once.
2) I PLAN to be there - but my company services some very demanding clients who have been known to throw a project at us at the last minute and my plans would have to change.
I've got the map, I've got the date, both of my clubs are aware of the event and I expect to see you there.

that wasn't directed entirely at you, it just caught me in one of my moods... I get at least one email a day asking what the date is (at least people are reading them ;))....the sad part is the questions sometimes come back to me in a reply that contains 3 or 4 links to the sites containing the info :(

I hope to see you and a few thousand other people there!

Whenever I hear of people that share the same attitude as the Park Ranger you were speaking to I always think back to a Quote I read...." Environmentalists are just people who already have their Cabin in the Woods"....... I think it was the former head of Greenpeace who ended up working for the Forest industry here in B.C.
You can truly feel the selfishness of the" environmentalists"
like they want to act as a surrogate Mother Nature.... and because they can't control Nature they seek to control us.(Wheelers)
