I am looking to trim the sides of my hood so I can move up the top of my fenders on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler as to have greater travel. I'm just interested in knowing if anyone has done this and if you have any advise? I know you cut along the crease on the side of your hood. I want to take off the stock fenders and use the Poison Spyder fenders so it will match the rear fenders.

If you check out that link it has the picture of what I am talking about.

Tons of people have done it. Search highline fenders.

Post this in the newbie section next time. Hardcore is for tech, not stupid questions.

Watcha wanna do is cut a nice straight line right down the center of the hood. When that's done, cut a nice straight line following the line of the axle. (That's the big black thing sitting below the engine) Take the rear driver section and the front passenger section and flip them upside down. Re-weld the sections and that should give you the look you're after!

Is it a trail only rig or do you have to drive it.
If its a trail rig start cutting the shit out of it. Save your money dont by the PSC fenders just do what I did.

NY is a bitch on vehicle codes right? Is it a DD?

Use a nice, body saw (harbor freight has em) not a sawzall unless you plan on filing it down.

Cutting you're hands on peoples hood sucks. I've got a scar to prove it.
