Just thought I would throw up a checkin thread for the so cal residents that have been evacuated. StacEy and I got evacuated, as well as her parents, and my parents. We are uncertain at this point as to whether or not we have our houses still, but we won't be able to find out for a while. Anyone in so cal or in the mountain areas that were effected by the fire, use this thread to update us.

benttoy and ron, thanks for the thoughts.. as far as running springs, I can't believe how that is going... they are talking that it MIGHT merge with the arrowhead fire... which would mean my house would be gone for sure.. at this point, I don't THINK my house is gone, and I am fairly certain that my in laws house is safe too, as well as my parents house, but Jeez... this sucks. My sinuses are OUT OF CONTROL from all this smoke and ash. Anyone else effected by the fires, please check in here and let us know that you are safe.

Got out of Running Springs yesterday with most of our stuff. Way better off than many people as we were planning on moving next weekend anyway. Most of our stuff was already packed. We're in our rental house in Riverside/Orangecrest. No TV or internet there so I get updates when I can from here at work or go to my sisters house for dinner.

I've heard reports of structure fires on several streets directly surrounding mine, many are walking distance away, and upwind.:(

We had fun with the Foothill Ranch fire yesterday in my business partners backyard. Fire popped up again today, but only a fraction of what it was yesterday.. Yes, 2 burns in the same canyon less then a day apart.

The fire has tried to move out of the foothills and into the city, but it can't catch a hold down here. They have closed off the streets a few blocks from my office and all kinds of traffic is backed up on the street in front of my office windows.

The fire is working its way around the foothills heading South and East. There is a large housing tract I'm pretty sure it will encircle, but those homes should be pretty safe by design. They take fire safety pretty serious around here and short of a few buildings in a highschool I am not aware of any structures lost. Once it hits the remote canyons with older houses that will change! If the fire keeps going it will climb up Saddleback Mtn, Santiago Peak, etc and start working its way down the other side. It could also works its way east towards Ortega Highway. But judging by the smoke plume side I'd say this one is shrinking and getting closed to contained... As long as the conditions hold.

This is based on my observations in the last few hours. (The fire is about a 10 minute walk from my office..)

I do not figure that JRT and AXLE Jack can check in right now so I will do it for them.

Dave and family are safe and sound. Last Dave talked to his neighbor the house was still standing. (late this afternoon) Zukizzy is taking good care of them.

Axle Jack. I have not talked to Axle Jack but recieved second hand info that Jack is currently holed up in his home protecting it from wayward looters with a 12 gage.:D His home some how made it through the fire storm. No word on the pigs as of yet. Heven help the dumb ass that try's to get Jacks big screen.

Again I will offer, if anyone needs a place to store RV's or large animals I can make room. I have plenty of space.

I was evacuated from my house in Ramona on Sunday. No idea if it is still standing or not. I went to my parents house south of Julian. We got evacuation notices here about 2 pm today. Not a hint of smake and cant even see a glow in the distence. Havent seen a fire truck for that matter eather. We are 4 years almost to the day of when the house burned last time. Probably 75% of the residences who lived here last fire storm are still here.

My brother lives in Aerobear and has been evacuated not sure the status of his place.

I'll post up for JC, I've spoke to him a few times since Monday. Him the wife, kids and M/I evacuated Sunday night. they are staying in the motor home at the Wallmart in Poway. His house is fine, the fire came close but no damage. As of yesterday afternoon he said it may be a while before they are allowed to return. There is no power and the water pump station burnt down.

Can we take Allyson (18 month old) there? If so, save a seat for Lujan and I.

Call me on my cell because I'll be offline for awhile.

If you talk to JC again tell him if he gets sick of the Walmart parking lot he can park it on my property and steal some power and water. I even have wireless internet :D
Dave knows how to get ahold of me.

I got evacuated Monday and hopefully will get back in tomorrow. Several homes in my neighborhood in north San Diego are burnt but as far as I can tell mine did not get it. I know we had a lot of wind and smoke damage even before we left.

We evacuated from Arrowbear Monday morning... I was already at work in SGV... so I met my wife and sons down at the bottom of the hill. The boys have been either at my son's UCR apt, or here in our hotel room with the big plasma screen.

The let most of the Grass Valley Fire evacuees back in today. Hopefully we will have good news on the Slide Fire soon.

I got back into my house last night, and surprisingly there was no smoke damage, no smoke smell, and no ashes. The fire started about a mile from my house... Either way, my house is there, and all is good. For those of you with homes near the slide fire, I will be thinking of you guys and praying for you.
