: Anyone Swap Scout body One ton chevy Frame.

I remember seeing a scout II body on a K5 on ebay way back. Similar frame widths so I don't see a reason why it couldn't be done. It would be a real bastard and alot of work. Remember how how tall a K30 frame will be, and the scout frame was only 4" tall, so get ready to see some stuff from the sides.

Joe Coombs in Billings has a K30 frame, big block, 60/14-bolt under his Traveler.

If it's a nice '73, what would be the point? Keep the scout frame if there isn't anything wrong with it.

I just swapped the 1 ton axles over, kept the Scout frame.

I would like to take a newer looking car (blown engine, or somthing) and put that on a 1 ton frame:D

That's rediculus ~ This is pirate, we put all the chevy powertrain, axles, brakes, and such into a Scout frame instead. Much less work :shaking:

The problem for me is I'm working with junk most of the time, trying to save a few coins. Had bought a K30, I would have just built that up. At the time I wanted to get something that would hold all five of us. Now my wife has no desire to go wheeling. :shaking: I could have bought a K30 and just wheeled it.

Thank You for the info; The scout i have has been Modified a lot sas,clocked diffs fuel cell. Lifted 9 inches with body and shackles. I would like to go full width with 62" chevy springs. It just seems like all chevy stuff needs to go into the scout . Why not swap the body.
I have c30 d60 front 14ff, sm465 pto transfer case.

The scout has destroyed front diff. drum brakes. Loose steering. Strong 345 engine Transfer pops out of four low.
