Looking for a strieght, un-hacked, un-rusted Cherokee, strongly prefer OEM paint. From there I get a lot less picky. Shabby is fine hopefully used not abused. I want it as a project to build modernize into a summer driver, and all the stuff in my neck of the woods is crap, the salt worm is strong here. (hence why it would be a summer driver).
Prefer a I6 manual, and plain jane options, but I don't think I can be to picky on that.

If anyone has any leads on such a truck, let me know.

Why do you want such an old one? 89s are pretty plentiful and can be got fer cheap around here (~$400). Good ol' Renix beasts kick ass and are pretty easy to fix, as long as you have an FSM.

I have you thougth about an 87 cherokee? I just happen to have one in pretty good shape for sale.

I am looking for a FSJ Cherokee, not the down sized 84+ jobs, nothing wrong with 84+ jobs, they are cheap plentiful and cool in thier own way, and a smarter (price/performance) thing to buy, but just not my cup of gin, ahh tea. (A stripper/plain jane FSJ Wagoneer of the 76+ vintage would also work for what I want) I apperciate some eyes on the ground, so far all ones I am finding are pretty sad (abused, bondo queens or cut up) or owners who think they are gold plated.
