hey guys. I bought a chevy dana 60 front from a guy here on the board. The guy before him decided to run drw hubs, so I am switching those out to srw. The axle came with mt. logan offroad drive flanges, and I got those out, but Im stumped on whats next. I have a picture below, but it sucks cause it was taken with a phone, but there is only one slot in the (what I think is a) collar/nut/sleeve??? Around that, is what looks to be a large nut, larger than any socket I have as well as deeper.

at the 7 oclock position, you can see the slot I am talking about.
So does anyone have any suggestions, or help. Thanks

Yup, get the right socket and take it apart. You will have an outer nut then a locking washer then another nut.

does anyone know the proper nut? And I may be wrong, but I dont think I will find a socket big enough to fit over the axle shaft? Thanks

If you are that unsure---then for safetys sake have someone else do the work for you. The CORRECT socket can be found at most major part stores

It is a big socket. It looks like the nut on the rear of my dodge, Like this one here with the nylon insert. (http://www.napaonline.com/masterpages/NOLMaster.aspx?PageId=470&LineCode=BK&PartNumber=6351102&Description=Spindle+Lock+Nut) You should just ask for a nut for a dana 60 at the parts store and get the socket that fits it. I don't recall the size at the moment. The slot is the spindle itself, thats all I can tell from the pics.
