What is the question? They are identicle to every other 3/4 ton ford of the same era with the exception of the axles, suspension, and plow.

I am not basing this on any specific research, except for personal experience. I have bought them with about every ford motor offered in the truck, and a few with ford motors that were't offered in the truck. Got one with a 429 once for instance, evidently came from a car, timing chain cover oil dipstick, and remote resevour PS pump. Most I have had, either had a NP435/NP205 or a C6/NP205.

What are you looking for specifically? The snow plow came on them from the factory from what I understand, but the only one I got that still had the plow had a Western on it...

BTW, as for value, I paid $1000 for my first one, w/ the 429. Sold the drive train for $700, kept the axels.

I got my next one in very rough shape for $700

Next one fair shape, PO couldn't get it running, Free, got it home and running on the trailer and backed it off and parted it out.

And another for $500, but I hade to drive a couple of hundred miles to drag it home. Drove off the trailer, body was shelled though.

Later,
Jason

I've seen one that was supposed a Connecticut plow truck that had two sets of leaf springs on the rear axle.

Does that help?

The SnowFighter package was aimed at the local gov't and Forestry Service market, a tough truck that could haul people and equipment in and out of "off road" areas day after day. They were sold at dealerships as well, aimed at the plow and work/tow truck market. 400M was the biggest motor offered( in any Ford 4x4 back then), standard drivetrain besides the Dana 60's front and rear. I think they came standard with Trac Lok LSD's as well. They were Crew Cab Short Beds, stripped down with no options and meant to work. Awesome trucks then and now.

Price depends on condition and what the seller thinks he has. If it's a rusty pile, then low ball him. If it's nice, then bust out the check book. But these trucks didn't lead pampered lives, so it's probably pretty rough. Good score either way though!

Not all the snofighters were crewcab shortbeds, i've seen plenty long bed regular cabs. All it really was was a heavy FAWR package that got a D60 and heavier springs. Could have been ordered on any F-250 by anyone.

this one i picked up is an extended cab short bed with a 400. but i dont know anything about that motor. he threw in an after market carb and alum edelbroc intake. whet is a fair price for that with a 435 and 205 combo that sounds like it runs strong?????
