Need help. I now have an engine(360), Transmission(CHRY 727 Torqueflite), NP203 Transfercase, Chrysler 9.25 rear axle, and whatever came in it as a front axle from a 1979 Dodge W150 Power Wagon. I am trying to figure out if I can rebuild these and swap them into a CJ-7. I have wanted one for a long time and now that I have complete spare drivetrain. I want to know if I can bolt them into an existing Jeep. I know anything is possible with enough time and money but I have a friend who tore his CJ up and is getting rid of it for a song. So Can I use what I have. Rebuilding the parts form the dodge isn't a problem I can do most of that myself. All I need to know is will it fit before I waste time and money trying to figure it out and has anyone tried to put a 1/2 ton dodge under a jeep and how did it work out. Insight and direction is welcome.

Well it's not going to just "Bolt in" ...I've seen Viper V-10's in a CJ so yours shouldn't be a prob

I,m not familiar with the lengths of your T/C and tranny and i don't feel like looking it up,Some drive trains don't fit in short wheelbase rigs to well, you end up with a 8" long rear drive shaft

Best thing to do is grab a tape and measuring what going to mount where, fan clearance, cross members, motor and tranny mounts,,just make sure you have a good game plan before you start rippin crap out

Find out what drivetrain is in the CJ7 currently. Also get the year of the vehicle if you dont know it.

A 360/727/203 shouldnt be a big deal to swap in. At worst case scenario, you might have to move the motor mounts and trans/xfer case crossmember a bit. The only other thing is gonna be driveshaft lengths.
