I don't know how you'd redrill the FF14-bolt hubs for a 6-lug pattern; the hubs have 8 individual bosses on the backside where the studs go through the hub. You can't just machine these off because they also position the drum or disc (assuming you're talking about the pre-'88 14-bolt), and you'd lose a lot of strength in the hub where the wheel is held on. You would be redrilling the hub, not just a flat flange like a SF axle. Beyond that, if the center hole in the wheel won't fit over the axle/hub, I don't know what to tell you. If the wheels are lug-centric, I guess you could open the centers up a little, but I don't see how you'll be able to redrill the hubs anyway so it really doesn't matter. My best advice would be not to buy expensive wheels for a 4WD unless you've gotta have beadlocks or something (not that it helps your buddy now)...

Why not just buy a 14 sf 6 lug? Since he is worried about his $$$ rims, I cant see him wheeling hard enough for a 14 FF.
Just an idea.

Call Geartech Heavy Duty (601) 899-9831. They make new hubs for the Dana 60 & 14 Bolt in 5 & 6 lug patterns. There hub kits come with disc brake caliper brackets.

Diamond axle can also weld & redrill your currant hubs to a 6 lug pattern.
