Will a 3rd gen toyota pickup tailgate fit on a 2nd gen bed? if so what has to be done to make it fit? I'm thinking of buying a used tailgate. thanks guys

nop wont work... 2nd gen has hinges on the bottom of tailgate and 3rd has hinges on the end of the tailgate. plus i think their is a size diffrence

*Just noticed you mentioned 2WD. This is from a 85 4x4. Not sure if there's a difference from a 2WD.

2wd and 4wd are the same. No need to modify though I have loads of tail gates all years.

Do you have 2wd manual bed latches? Trying to install a 2wd 2nd gen tailgate onto my bed but my bed was intended to have a tailgate with center latch.
