I dont even notice the rear spool in mine. Other then the tires making noise when I'm aired down (its normal to drive on the street with 5psi right?). I had a lockright in my old axles, and it was VERY noticable when it locked and unlock. With a spool, you dont have to do deal with it locking and unlocking. Its always locked, and you hardly notice it!
Go for it, you'll be glad you did!

I love mine, the only issue is with tire wear, but rotate often, and you will be ok.
and i wouldnt recommend a spool in the front... i used to say go for it, but after blowing 3 d44 shafts with only 35s i feel safe saying that the spool was the cause.

Mine's welded. Not bad, but I just drive to and from trails, no DDing.

D44s are bomb proof on 38s, it has to be the spool.

Is anyone else thinking 6.5" of lift + 35" (probably) tires + D35 + spool = Kaboom?????
It'd probably last awhile since it doesn't have any hard loading and unloading like a lunchbox would, but come on  Plus why spend money on a spool, lincoln lock that fawker.

Right, teeny axleshafts and u-joints couldn't possibly be the reason.
I was blowing up those u-joints and shafts on a regular basis locked with 33's, stock motor/trans/t-case.
