I was yet again trying to figure out where my stream of ATF is coming from under my Jeep. I was checking all the drain plugs etc. and well I ended up breaking a bolt off the bottom of my NP-231 transfercase. It looks like a drain plug but it has a coil spring and ball looking thing attached to it... I belive its tensioner for the 4x4 shift linkage internally.. what is the technical term for this part??? I need to get a new one of these before this weekend!!

My Haynes manual refers to it as the "shift detent plug, spring, and pin". I guess the bolt you broke is the shift detent plug.
