there were 2 guys camping right at fains ford this past weekend. they were taking pics of every rig that passed threw fains ford. they even took pics after dark. i was about 60% convinced they were with either the paper or TU. on our way back from peckerwood i stopped to talk to them to feel them out and i think they were doing more then just taking ramdom pics. they were at slickrock as well taking pics. did anyone else see or speek with these cats? did they seem out of place or strange?

I can't remeber the first approved camp site at Fains Ford. Please don't publicy state they were breaking the law.

I think he was one of them :homer:

Anyway, let's just hope they were noobie college kids to Tellico, and nothing official. A great time for a tree hugger to be there too :shaking:... while slickrock was covered in fluids from a recent break. A friend of mine talked to one of them and said they didn't seem too odd, just out of place. :mad3:

You beat me to it! Had to sign up before I could post...

Anyway, I did see them up there. I talked to one of them for a second. They seemed new to the area for sure. His Grand Cherokee was the one parked on the side of 8. I later saw the same one at Faines where there was a tent. They were taking a lot of pictures, but I figured they were just new to Tellico. it was a bad day to take pics up there since someone (by the time I got there) had lost some oil on the way up the left side and what seemed to be power steering fluid on the right line. FWIW, they were sitting half way up the hill right above the rock that sticks out of the bank at the ledge in the middle of slickrock. Hope they weren't just there to try to get "evidence" to shut it down... :mad3:

We can hope all we want. They want us shut down. I can see a tactic like this used against us. It's easy, hide in plain sight. Commenting they were doing something unlawful could be construed as a threat by an unscrupulous attorney. I'm as much at fault as others for posting it. Did anyone get their pic since they were getting yours?

Do any of you guys know were I can get a map of all the trails, were they lead , with all the good stuff highlighted? The group I was with did'nt seem to know much were we were going just trail 8 then up to slick rock and back out on trail 4 I think.

I was with BigGreen when we stopped and talked. I was going to come right out and ask if they were with the trout people, but decided to keep my lips sealed. If they were, I would have had to punch one of them in the mouth.

Although, we heard they are going to open 4 more trails to replace Peckerwood, Lower2 and whatever else they are closing.
We did see where they were getting ready to put up guardrails to close the trails. Get up there and run them if it's not too late...might be your last time.

The way the news and "experts" talk about the drought conditions there might not be a stream for any freakin trout or any fish for that matter, but then they'll just kick and wine about the trees or some near extinct spotted owl found pressed flat by a bogger or somethin.

Someone should go up there and take a picture of those idiots fishing with illegal barbed treble hooks and live bait. Like they are perfect...

I never saw them... I talked to one of you guys, either BGM or Shag, didn't catch your name. I was in the little beat ass blue jeep. I dunno how I could have missed them, i think we made one lap through fains ford on Friday and 2 on saturday(trying to drive around a bunch of badasses who kept winching up everthing instead of taking the bypasses). When did they turn the guardrail bypass into an interstate? What'd the grand look like?
