Hey guys...
I'm still having carb?...egr?...vac hose? problems with my stock 1.3!!
I think the Calmini header and 2" exhaust has created an unbalanced backpressure issue?!
She won't hold a low idle...
And she wants to keep racing when I'm upshifting and dipping the clutch.
I have two carbs...both seem to do the same thing!
I switched the ECM...same thing?
I keep seeing these pony carbs (hyundai??) for sale...from canada...
What's the deal with these?

My 86' does the same thing when its cold. My carb is running too rich right now anyway so that makes it run even more poorly in the morning. But does your zuki run fine after its warm???
...mine does, you just have to let mine idle a at 2500 -3000rpm for a while. It was surging alot before I change my vacuum hoses.
I was told by a machanic that it was the mixture Control valve. Personally I think my problem is the rich fuel and the Choke and all thoughs little vacuum delay valves were and are full of dirt, but I havn't solved it yet. Another possiblitly for mine is the cat seems like it dosn't work, think it might be blocking the exhaust alittle. Don't Know though??
If you find a fix let us know!!!

I know a few peole that run the pony seems to work good ebough for them. Curently I run a weber and it sucks arse. It sounds like your problem is a vacuum leak though. One thing to remember bout a Pony though is they were a cheap junko car that couldn't be sold in the US.

When my Zuke still had a 1300, I ran a pony carb for awhile and it floods terribly on hills. I thought it was the carb so I tried another and got the same result. I tried three of them and none worked well. The carb works perfect on the street though with noticable extra mid-range power. :D

ok...this is helping somewhat!!!
So I'll keep switching around all the vac hose solanoids, and switches on the stock until I get it right...
To solve the flooding on hills thing I might do this:
Also, I think on Izook, not sure, someone revented thier fuel bowl.
They filled the vent hole in the carb throat...and drilled a hole on the top of the carb...installed a nipple and hose.
Anyone done this to thier stock???
Since I've got a few carbs to play with here, I might just give it a shot!

I am tired of dealing with carbs, I am going to buy an aftermarket FI system. Aftermarket4x4.com sells them for about 450.00 Also there is a guy that goes buy wanderer4x4 who is developing one as well. He is on the off road suzuki bbs.
