I'm thinkin' about making a Toyzuki this winter, with a complete Toy engine, drivetrain, and axles. Will this still weigh a lot less than a Toy pickup? Anybody done similar and know the weight?

Sounds like I could easily keep it under 3000. That'd be nice when it gets stuck. And easily moved be a 22R.

oh ya id say 3000 would be a good target, my f/r bias was 55/45 so with a bit heaver motor you'd be maybe 60/40... unless you load the back down also... good luck... post pics when you get somthing going !

I'd say you will come in about 2,500 - 3,000 lbs. Much less then a Toyota.

My buddy has a sweet Toyota based hybrid, and he is 4,000 lbs on 38 tires. The little toyota motor is pretty damn weak with those loads.

my 82 with all running gear in my sig below is 3100, and I'm sure my motor trans is 200-300 more then a toyota:eek: but the hp is worth it:emb4: :flipoff2:

Very curious to weigh mine when its done, but I'm guessing around 2500-2600#. Lots of heavier stuff, lots of stuff gone.

Check out Chris Geigers "truck" (Maximum Sawzall thread in Toy section) and you'll see what it takes to make a Toy drivetrain stay under 2700 lbs.

I wouldn't do a ToyZuki unless I was running 35" or smaller tires. Or it was never going to touch mud. Around here, the Toy motor just won't spin my 36" TSLs the way I need to, trying to climb loose dirt and power through the occasional muddy hole.

When I go to 38x12.50s, I'm going to be running something with at LEAST 200HP. Maybe if it was just rock and you never had to goose it to climb something, I'd stay 22RE - but for eastern wheeling, you need motor.
