The factory paint on mine is flaking off and starting to rust. What kind of paint is best? Any tips on painting a winch? Need pics if anyone has any. Thanks.

I painted mine with Krylon black when I first got it (used). It's held up fine so far. Don't think I have any pics of it though, besides my winch is totally out of view so I don't care if it looks good, I just don't want it to rust.

I just did mine awhile back.I used dp90 primer followed by some black centari, looks brand new can't tell it's 20 years old.

I painted mine with rustoleums black hammered metal paint it hides any defects in the old paint an it still looks good 2 years later. And i am a freak about keepin paint on stuff
