Anyone see the write up on IH8MUD for the Astro PS conversion? Todd if you're out there I have a few questions for you.
Need to find out how this well this works? I'm thinking of giving it a shot, just cuz I'm considering outboarding the front hangers (for a waggy front end) and can't have steering components outside the frame rail. And since we're on the subject, is it totally necessary to outboard springs to fit a D44? I've seen quite a few differing opinions. Anyway, really interested on the Astro PS so I'd appreciate some feedback from those in the know.

Thanks

I have no idea on the Astro van conversion, but most people who want a narrowish D44 will just the Waggy D44 which already has a spring perch spacing of 31.5". If you want to do a custom narrowed D44, then you can use whatever spring perch spacing that you want (within reason) and you may or may not need custom cut axle shafts. You can take a full width Chevy 6 lug D44 and cut 4.5" off the long side and end up with a stock spring perch spacing of 27" and have a WMS of 62.5"
