i put this in the wanted section, too, but not alot of people look there,i dont think.

anyway,i am in need of some broken FF 14 bolt axleshafts. doesnt matter what theyre from,or where theyre broke.i really only need the part that bolts to the hub,so the rest of the shaft could be chopped off for shipping.

thanx-

Why do you need the broken axels?

i want to flat tow my rig without the ring and pinion,or drivesahft spinning. when i go to close trails(15 miles or so) i leave the shaft inand let it all spin, but sometimes we go to trails about 75 miles or so away, and i dont really want to spin stuff that far.

i just need a cover to keep the oil in and bearings lubed, and it will be way easier to cut the flange off of a broken shaft than to start from scratch, cutting a circle out of metal and drilling the appropriate holes.

have ya got some for me?

sounds like an interesting idea.

I took my axles out all together on my 8" pickup trailer. I have a 14 bolt... I took out the axle and put a piece of aluminum over the end cut into a circle with the holes drilled. I then used the ring that goes between the axle and the drum. Then used shorter bolts.. it all stays in nice and doesnt turn....

I know this requires money which is bad, but warn makes a manual locking hub kit for rear axles also including the ff14 I believe. I will se if I can find part numbers on it tomarrow.

Man, can't you go to hell for that? You better get that axle under a rig before judgement day;)

I don't think they make a lockout and shaft kit for the 14 bolt FF, but they should, it would be super easy to make. I used to have some cut-off shafts, we used to swap them into buddies trucks when they weren't looking and sit back and laugh at the diagnosis, we let one guy that we didn't like pull his t-case out (the driveshaft is spinning, dork) I'm pretty sure they got tossed a few years ago.

Oh yeah, it's a hoot, and the only reason I can think of to run chrome center caps in the rear, to make the fawkers have to take the tires off. It cracks me up to think back to those days, we started out with one shaft, but as we all got locked or welded, we had to cut-off another, then we had to start painting them different colors cuz everyone started painting theirs, one friend even tack welded his on! We went so far as to swap on a cut off pinion & pinion support on a smart asses Bronco cuz he was saying that a 9" was way stronger than a 14 bolt, but that was a stinky pain in the ass. Damn, the good old days....I'd better call my girlfriend and make sure my garage is locked.

icve never gone that far, but once i put my friends transfer case in neutral, and then unbolted the linkage underneath so the lever was free from the case, and put it habk into 2 hi, boy, my friend tripped after this cus he just payed alot for a enw clutch and he thought that was the problem. lol
