I posted in general chitchat but I figured that I might get better luck here with the ford forum.
1995 Mustang Cobra with Ignition Interlock. No keys, doors are locked.
I have changed lock tumblers before in my Jeeps and I also changed an ignition one time in a steering column without a key.
The locksmith wants $1200 to fix this thing. THAT IS BULLSHIT.
How much should I pay and what do I have to do to get the ignition interlock security system disabled so that when I put the new key and tumbler in that the engine will start??

First, what happened to the keys?
Second, a guy I worked with had that on his corvette and something happened. I think he just went back to the dealer, they looked up his car and got him another key. I think it still cost him a few hundred dollars for the key.
Third, you surely have full coverage on your car right? Check with you insurance company about covering charges. My wife has locked her keys in her car a few times, and the insurance has always covered the locksmith charge.
I was a locksmith for 9 years, and i can tell you right off that the price is bull. I would not ever go back there evenfor house keys. :(
By the ei ignition, do you mean the one with the key that has the black button on it. AKA Vat Keys. If this is the case, a dealer will be mutch cheaper. Its hard to find a locksmith who can program the keys, let alone remove and install the system trigger.
IMO, i would have a locksmith open the car, and then have it towed to a dealer. It may take a few days, but it will simply be cheaper this way.
You can find deals with lock shops. Call around. Preferably shops that advertise that they work on cars.
Good luck to you.

the dealer can buzz up a new key using the VIN #'s. I had this done for G/F's precidia(sp?). needed the papers to the car and the VIN#. they claim its the best way to get a key period because copying off a worn key gets you a 'NEW' worn key.

That is pretty much a dealer fix. I'll bet you can get into the car easily enough with a slim jim or something, but the key has to be programmed into the computer before the car will recognize it.
We had extra keys and a fob programmed for the Exploder a few weeks back. I think the bill was $200 or so.

Our 95 Stang does not have the Computer chip Keys. So you will most likely not have to worry about that. The $1200 pirce is just crazy. Other than that talk to the Dealer.
