Can anybody tell me what else besides the BW1356 will bolt up to the ZF 5sp without an adapter plate.
Also what mods to use the NP 242, does it bolt up or would I need to fab an adapter plate?
Thanks

I thought all ford t-cases had the same pattern?
If not a 271/273 will probably bolt up. Not sure what else.

pretty much any ford tcase.. I believe you have to notch the tranny to install a np205 to clear the shift rail.

205, 208, sure there are others out there as well.

you can't use a D21 and you can't use whatever the case is that comes in superduties behind diesels with a manual (but only some got it and for the life of me i can't recall what case number it is).
Otherwise you can use any case that came in a F100-350 in a married application.

203, 205, 208, 1345, 1356 all have the same pattern and 31 spline count

I think the NV271 and NV273 have the same pattern. I swapped a transmission in my superduty, and it looked like the pattern was the same. I'll admit I didn't measure or count it when I had it apart. On paper it's stronger than even the 205, and has a 2.7x to 1 low.

It's a small block 5 speed ZF. Sounds like a lot to choose from.

How big is the 271 or 273? Do you know if it will fit in a Early Bronco without major frame modification?
