I have been looking at replacing the tub on an 81 scrambler for a few months. I have come to the conclusion that a kevlar reinforced body may be the route to go. I dont want to go with aluminum because of the paint problems, and original steel because of the rust worm. I also like the thought of no tailgate, tailight holes, and gas filler hole as I am running a fuel cell in the rear of the bed . I will occasionally give the Scrambler some severe abuse. I would like to know if anyone has ran a Shell Valley product and what is opinion of their products.

Can't comment on the actual product because I've never run it, but it seems to me for a trail-driven rig a plastic or glass body isn't the greatest idea. No matter how strong, it will still end up breaking when hit instead or bending like metal. You say you occasionally give the Scramlbler severe abuse, so I'm assuming rocks? Trees?

But hey, what the hell do I know, right? :flipoff2:

I live in the south and there aren't that many rocks down here. Most of the abuse will come in mud and trails.

Trees are just as hard on bodies as rocks are. I like the aluminum tubs and I especially like the body they did on fourwheeler tv with the modified raised floor in the rear and the boat sides.

i have a kevlar tub. mines from fibertech and to be honest, the company sucks. but anyways, i lost brakes on a hill and used a tree to stop me from rolling backwards. it was a hard hit and did absolutely no damage to the tub. FWIW.
