ok, last summer, had a freeze plug spring a leak. with the help of some friends, we were able to plug the leak with a screw and jb weld it closed. this held for this long, so, it was good. however, the same friggin plug is leakin' again - it's the one at the back of the engine block by the firewall, so it's a bitch to get to anyway.

suggestions ona fix that doesn't require pullin' the engine? should i just do the screw/jbweld thing again?

if you can get to it pop it out,and put in one of those rubber expanding plug deals. you should be able to call the parts store tell em you want a freeze plug repair kit and they should set you up.

i don't think i can get to it well enough to do that. popping it out would be a challenge though...hmm...

thanks for the info - didn't know there was such a thing as a repair kit for 'em.

if its that hard to get to,you can force it into the water jacket and leave it.kinda shadetree but if you are in a pinch..........

I changed the freeze plugs on a 360 chrysler by poking the side of the plugs with a hammer and long punch. They all spun around sideways in the hole and I was able to get a pry bar behind them.

Cut a hole in the firewall and work from under the dash.

y'know, i actually considered that...but it get's cold here in the winter and that hole would suck...still an option though. could make it an access panel i guess. now where's that sawzall...
