Could someone post some pics of what a 208 shifter/linkage looks like (inside cab and underneath)? I'm converting from a TH350/NP203 to a TH400/NP208. I have the transfer case but no linkage. It looks like I need a different electircal end plug for the transfer case too? I working on a 79k10 if you're wondering.

Do you think it would be worth putting in a shift kit in the TH400 before I put it in the truck? It's a rebuild tranny with 0 miles on it. The truck will be used for towing duty now, with the possibility of 1-ton driveline/extra large tires a few years down the road. Right now it serves as hot rod duty with a fresh 383in stroker.

the np208 uses a completely different shifter set up then the 203 does. i guess you might be able to rig something up since the np208 basicly just uses a bar.

if you want to do it right, just go to a junkyard and swipe the shifter and linkage. theres tons of trucks with 208s around here
