I have an '03 F-150 that I have been building up it is my daily driver and so far it has a 6in lift, 35s, and a superchip processor. I'm gonna regear it in the next month, but I have been toying with the idea of putting dual electric fans in the truck for some more hp. What do you guys think? Would there be a "better bang for your buck" upgrade?

i took off the dual fans (one died on the family trip) and tossed them. i got a Taruas fan out of the junk yard and the 502 does not get hot anymore.

i installed the same style fan in the family mini van and the surburban and Jezebel (1983) full size bronco.

they go for $15 and $20 for the constant duty relay and controler. i will not use anything different as long as i still can get these.
i added this to many different cars and truck and i got 2 hanging in the garage to cool it off or move the air around...mike

Do these fans work a lot better than the stock fan? my stock fan is fine I was just looking for some more power and possibly a colder engine, but the truck has never had an overheating problem.

i run a taurus fan on my bronco and even without a shroud that sucker keeps it cool! even when i forget to turn on the fan and the motor gets a little hotter than desired... that fan will cool it off with a quickness! not to mention i carry an extra one around with me cause they are so dang cheap in j-yards!

The Taurus fans are great, but, being the cheapwad I am, and not being able to find one for free, I ended up with a dual fan setup from an 01 or so Chevy Malibu for my 460.

Couple pieces of angle iron and I had the thing in place, the bottom is set up so it sits in the clips for the stock rad shroud.
I didn't get fancy and use a controller or anything, just 2 switches on the dash, the smaller fan will keep it cool at idle/low speed on a 90 degree day, and both will keep it ice cold when I'm racing on that same 90 degree day, so long as I don't forget to turn them off when I hit the mud and plug the rad solid... Truck literally ran all day last races I was at due to starter issues too... LOL

I got some Spal Fans off Ebay and ordered 2 Derale Fan controllers from a local shop to put on my tow pig. Never had a problem with it getting hot, but I would recommend running 2 controllers. I had a single controller running both fans before and randomly one day the controller die and my truck started getting real hot. I had to splice the fans into my fog lights to get me home. With two controllers, if one dies the truck might get a little hotter, but I'll still get home.

I'm also using a junk yard Taurus fan, out of a mid 90's Taurus. I have a controller set to come on at 210 and off at 180, it takes about 1 minute at Idle to cool it down to 180 and shut off. The fan just kicks ass. I'm also running a massive 4-core with a 460 to give you an idea of how much coolant it's cooling.
