i stumbled over this on another forum....i figured some of oyu might get a good laugh/cry out of this.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1837835157

that shiot is just an outright insult to people who actually build their rigs to wheel.

AND, speaking as someone who has had a tow hook wiz by my head at warp speed when it broke on a hard pull, that could have easily removed my head from my body, id like to send out a huge SCREW YOU! to this dude.

and, in this day and age, i wouldnt put it past a jury to convict if there was serious injury or death caused by these.
i dont know...i cant get over how ridiculous this is...although, if you dont take the time to know your vehicle, and strap these babies on, maybe you deserve what you get...
in any case

Yeah i dunno...i really would rather have something a bit beefier, and maybe attahaced to the frame by something besides what is pretty much just stamped sheet steel.

Saw the same auction for the D-ring mounts and I emailed the guy, here's his response which speaks for itself, especially the second sentence. Dumshit.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. The point is I do not advertise you can pull your Jeep
out of the muck with these. I sell brackets and "D"Rings!! I do not know
what the Jeep is or looks like when a bidder wins!! The frame could be
falling off the Jeep!! Most guys put this stuff on for looks and never get
off the highway. If a guy doesn't know his vehicle then he should not be
offroading in the first place. But, who am I to tell someone what to do!!
As I mentioned, I do not advertise these are wonder rings. If these are
mounted on the bumper directly in front of the frame rail, at the bumper
mount, you should be able to winch a Cherokee out of the mud. If you are
caught on a tree or rock, you could rip the bumper off. But, even without
the rings, he would rip the bumper off!! I have seen bumpers ripped off
with reinforcement.
As far as liability, I do not suggest or recommend these for offroad. It is
not mentioned in my auction. Also, this is an auction, like a garage sale,
and you bid on what you want. As I mentioned, most people put these on for
looks. A guy that is serious and knows his Jeep, will reinforce the rings.
You telling me if a guy buys a bumper from you, you are in CA he is in FL,
and he bolts this on, you are responsible!! Get real, his ride could be
falling apart, how would you know???? He could be strapping it to a
tractor!! How would you know???
I have seen these advertised in the Jeep mags without reinforcement!! They
do not sell reinforcement brackets with them!!
I build bumpers too!! Mostly CJ, YJ and TJ. I put "D"Rings on all of them.
This is not permission to go driving in the bush or muck.
Jeep installs tow hooks on their YJ, TJ,Cherokee,Grand and Liberty models on
the frame rails, exactly where I recommend bolting these rings!! They do not
advertise offroading!!
And, most Jeepers do not want to get their Jeeps dirty regardless!!
I appreciate your concern, but as I mentioned, I sell what people want. If
you don't trust them, please do not bid.

But, I if I auction these again, I will take your advise and mention they
may need to be reinforced on Cherokee models!!

Thank You,

Don

he sure yells allot, and can't fuckin weld for shit...........and thinks sqwuare tube is far superior to round:rolleyes:  GET A CLUE! from his website

"Trail Doors are solid steel welded construction. Fabricated form 1.0"inch squre tubing rather than bent round tubing, which makes them far superior in strength."

if he wants to stay out of trouble he needs to say "these are for appearance only".

and ugly at that.
