I need to be educated on the Heavy 20 rears. I know they aren't worth dumping money into. How good are they for a temp fix while saving for the 60? I see people run them all the time but haven't really heard or seen real world results. Anyone on here using it?

a quick search will turn up results.

the one piece shaft ones are as strong as a 44.

the only problem is they only gear down to 4.56

I did the search and got a lot of info. I didn't realize they only went to 4.56's though. I think he will be alright with this set up for a while. He wants to build something stronger for the future so he can wheel this for now and upgrade later...

If he wants to go to a 60 anyway, then why not just start there or with a 14 bolt? By the time you would get an axle ready to go for a "temp fix" you could probably be close to done with the axle that you really want anyway unless you're planning something really extreme with the 60.

I don't know what gear ratio you're looking for in the axle, but the CUCV 14 bolts are already 4.56 geared from the factory so that may be a viable, almost bolt in option.
