: Toyota Super Duty Transfer Case Mounts
traxman25 11-06-2007, 09:54 PM As you have probably already discovered, off roading places heavy abuse on many parts of your truck that don’t get abused when your truck is driven “normally”. One of such part is your stock transfer case mount. This soft rubber and steel block bolts between your transfer case and your transfer case cross member, and has a tendency to do one of two things when you are wheeling your truck. It will either flex far to much letting your shifter hit things in the cab, or even worse, the rubber will rip right in half! So now you’re in the middle of a trail, in the middle of nowhere, with a transmission/transfer case that is just flopping around, now what do you do?
To help you avoid such a situation, 4x Innovations has created the first true super duty transfer case mount for Toyota trucks! In this new mount the soft, weak, stock rubber portion of the mount is replaced with quality Energy Suspension Poly round bushings. These bushings will not split and fail on you, eliminating such worries associated with stock mounts. Your new mount comes with thicker steel plates that are laser cut and CNC formed for the best fit possible. This mount is a direct replacement and even includes all needed hardware. You can even run this mount with after market cross members that reuse the Toyota rubber mount.
As if all that wasn’t enough, there’s another trick feature to this mount. If you need remove your transfer case or transmission you now only need to remove two bolts from the bushings to pull the cross member down, not the 4, hard to get to, bolts that engage in the cross member.
Get the strongest mount available for your rig today for just $85 including black die zinc plating! This mount fits all 79-95 Gear drive transfer cases and 82-95 4 cylinder cross members. To order please either contact us (http://4xinnovations.com/pages/contact.htm) or click over to 4xInnovations.com (http://4xinnovations.com/pages/drive/crossmembers.htm) and use the online shopping options.
Now black die zinc plated!
traxman25 11-13-2007, 10:09 PM Here's a picture of the real unit on the bench.
You may have some concern over these mounts introducing more vibration into the truck, but these are great bushings, and there is not actually much vibration at the mount. A customer brought this up when he was over this weekend, so we hoped in the shop truck for a drive. This 4 Runner is running the same style of mount/bushings (and has been for years), but it also has 2 inch round bushings for motor mounts. He felt it wasn't nearly as much as expected, and more than acceptable.
I've got to get a picture of the unit under the truck, it bolts right up, just like a stock one would. And it bolts in ALL of the places you would use this shaped OEM unit!
Slapahoe 11-15-2007, 04:02 PM Just placed my order. I'm sure it's going to work out great.
traxman25 11-15-2007, 11:53 PM Got your order, Thank you!
It will ship in the morning and I'll email you your tracking #.
Also here's some more photos of the mount installed in my 85 pickup. Gotta love how much the PO let her leak!
scallywag 11-19-2007, 04:35 PM When I was young and dumb(er), I had a VW buggy that I was stupid enough to use stock rubber engine/trans mounts (rear mounts) along with a solid mount on the transaxle's nose cone (front mount). Oviously there were problems. I broke the nose cone right off the transaxle. It is so clear to me now why this happened and I cant believe I did that.
Your mounts look super beefy and way cool. Beautiful idea. Are there any possible issues with using a set of squishy motor mounts and a fairly rigid trans mount? Would it be wise to also use a set of poly engine mounts as well?
traxman25 11-19-2007, 05:12 PM In short, it's not as much of a problem as you may think. This mount still allows for movement. It doesn't take much movement at the transfer case mount to equal a fair about at the engine mounts.
We are working on new round bushing engine mounts that will be able to absorb engine vibrations better than any other mount available now. They will remain as destruction proof as well. We are a little ways out on them still.
cruzila 11-19-2007, 09:40 PM Dang it and I just made one that looks just like that. What a waste of my time, I could have just bought one.
e cliff 01-23-2008, 11:32 PM awsome looking product, it will help the stock motor mounts from having a devorce. i built something simular a few years back but not as nice. and to offer it for less then a factory mount???? good job.

Slapahoe 11-18-2008, 09:31 AM Bump for a badass mount. I wish you would have had the zunc plated one when I bought mine.
:grinpimp:
gassman4x4 12-14-2008, 10:13 AM will this fit with a duel case {marlin clocked} adapter .if so do i need 2
traxman25 12-16-2008, 03:06 PM Yes they fit any standard gear driven transfer case from 79-95. The do not compensate for the clock, so you'll still need a cross member for a clocked case though.

Any update on the engine mounts, would like to buy a pair of these with the engine mounts, considered doing a package deal?
traxman25 01-12-2009, 12:56 PM Yep, there's a thread about them here (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=706931), and they are here (http://4xinnovations.com/pages/drive/enginemount.htm)on our website.

Whiten 10-18-2009, 12:35 PM do you have to run 2 mounts or can i get by with one on rear tcase? I have poly engine mounts in place if that makes a difference.
traxman25 10-26-2009, 10:43 AM Most of our customers only run one mount.
traxman25 12-10-2009, 10:07 AM These make a great stocking stuffer for that special someone, AND are in stock and ready to ship! There's still time to get your order delivered on time for the big day!

traxman25 12-14-2010, 07:40 AM Now available is the SMOKING Engine Mount - Transfer Case Mount package! Get your 22R series motor mount and gear drive transfer case mount for just $180! That's only $30 for the transfer case mount!!
chromewontgetyouhome 03-18-2011, 05:39 PM Been beating on these for awhile and not a peep out of them. They still look/feel like they installed yesterday. I was worried that running two mounts on my dual cases might be overkill, but they really stiffen up the whole driveline (stock 22re motor mounts). If your sick of your shifters dancing everytime you hit the throttle then it's time to grab a couple of these!
