My 72 Scout has a prob(304 rebuilt)
It doesnt wanna start, unless I move (advance) the distributer CCW a few degrees, once it is running I have to drop it back to get it to run smooth.....

What's your timing normally set at and what distributor are you running?

Okay. I'm going to assume you're running points. Sounds like they may not be adjusted properly. Timing should be TDC factory setting. Doublecheck your points and see if they're off.Did anything lead up to this problem? It's also possible when you rotate the distributor that it starts because it's near the proper timing. The subsequent rough running may be another issue ( fuel supply or ignition circuit).
