It seems some people (Tracey Jordan, Don Robbins)are running coilovers in the rear and leaf springs, sprung under, and doing quite well in competitive events. Can anybody explain to a dumb aussie why they run this setup over coilover all round?

many people have had bad luck running link front suspensions. If the links are too short and steep the tire needs to move forward to move up so instead of climbing an obstical the front tire will actually droop down. The main reason link suspensions work good in the rear is you can have a soft flexy suspension with no axle wrap. In the front axle wrap is not such a big deal so leaves work. I don't know why those guuys run spring under, but there is less axle wrap with spring under than spring over. Some people like the way it slides over rocks better too.
There is no reason a front link suspension can't work good. There are many examples of such suspensions in ARCA just look at them and copy the geometry of the one that seems to win all the events.

return to center would be a good reason, and less body roll.. ask camo, or scoutdude if you do not understand what that means..
plus with force hydrolic suspension.. why do you need flex?? at least on don robbin's and tracy jordon's rig
