Ok I picked up a HP44 Off craigslist for $150 . I didn't mess with it till tonight to really get any idea where it falls when installing. What concerns me is where the pinion is. I had a HP60 ,and This seems like the pinion is faced sky high. If you look at it you can see it is definitely above the radius arms. I am going to extend the arms like 11" Maybe more and add JJ's to them. But does that pinion angle seem right? I am just wondering because the wedges almost look cast, but maybe I am wrong or just overly concerned. Here is some pictures.

did you put the radius arms on or did it come like that? if so try flipping them over...the radius arm bushings only go on one way, and you might have put them both on upside down...

I bought tha damn thing just like it , and he just pulled it from his Bronco. Also the arms seem to be right side up as the spring bucket bolts are up.

I think he was talking about the bushings...But said the arms...There is a certant way the C bushings go in to get the right angle..

The C-bushings come in various degrees. You can adjust the castor and pinion angle by swapping the bushings out for different degreed ones. I agree that pinion angle looks a little steep. The PO might have installed them backwards.

Yep all of the degreed bushings I've seen, including the Prothane ones we carry at WCB, have the install note molded right into the bushing. You have to take them out to see this note, so take them off and see what you've got. Mark them before you take them off though (Mark the side of the bushing, with "front" or "rear", with an arrow pointing up) so you can verify whether they were installed incorrectly. There was a time a while back that one of the vendor's bushings were marked incorrectly, and installing them according to the instructions would get you an incorrect install.

Listen to Dusty.

Take the bushing out, you see they are marked "Front Bottom" on one side, and Rear on the other.
Those bushing on on wrong, or some stupid degree.
I'd personally go to the parts store and get some Zero degree bushings, and set everything up with those. That way you can get some higher ones if you need more.

Anouther thing to check for is the differance between the caster at ball joints & pinion angle, the guy before you could have cut & turned the center section to help with his pinion angle if his truck was on a high lift.

Remember Caster angle is more important here than pinion angle. Just my $.02.
