Sorry to clog the thread jess but i was wondering what do you mean by the chinese junk? I didnt know they had gotten into the driveline game. By US made do you mean
"spicer" only? Maybe you could mention which manufacturers are importing the chicom stuff.

Pm sent for crawl toy- and as far as who went to china -I cannot say the name of them -But its a good idea to ask where they get there parts- And suprisinly enough Spicer has went to china for some of there product also- I don't use those parts-Jess

Thanks for the heads up on the china junk Jess, i got one for ya, i need a 2 piece front for my comp buggy i am finishing up. I am 1350 off of the atlas and then i want a 1410 mid joint and i am 1410 on the pinion. My problem is i dont have alot of room around the d-line due to exhaust, cable shifters, ext. So i need to know what is the smallest dia. tube you could make the 1350-carrier bearing-1410 section of the dline. Thanks.

onetoncv
11-10-2007, 01:11 PM
We can use the bushing reducers to make the tube small where it needs to be - So you call uut the dimensions sizes where they will fit and we will see if it can be done - Jesse

I need a front driveshaft, from the output on the t-case to the pinion its 34.5" long at droop and 28" at compression, the angles at full droop are 30* at the t-case and 25* at the pinion. I'll also need yokes/flanges for the np205 and d60. I'm a little short on cash right now so if you could give me a couple different options I'd appreciate it.
I'll also be needing a two piece rear driveshaft. I don't have the exact measurments yet but it will need to be around 19" from the t-case output to the middle of the carrier bearing and around 48"(at ride height) from there to the pinion. I was thinking 1350 off the t-case to a 1350 cv to a 1350 on the 14bff. I'll be needing yokes/flanges here too.
Thanks for your time and I hope to do business with you if I can manage to scrape up the money.

what can you do on a front 2 piece? 1350 at the t case, 1410 in the middle, 1350 at the axle. about 18 inches from t case to center joint, about 24 inches from the center joint down to the axle joint. it's going on a buggy with a four link and 40 inch tires that weighs about 4000 pounds. also, what is the price difference if i do all 1410 joints? thanks in advance.

Hey Jess, I'm looking for a new front driveshaft.

T-case end is early 80's Toyota t-case
Axle end is Rockwell 2.5 ton
Flange to Flange length is 47"

Running Ford 302 ('89), AOD tranny and dual Toyota t-cases turning 44" Swampers.

I was previously running my self built hybrid from the stock rockwell slip end and the stock Toyota CV joint end at the T-case. Sch 40 pipe inside with 2" x .120 wall DOM on the outside.

I might also need to replace my rear shaft

Toyota flange output to Rockwell 2.5" Axle flange
Length = 45.25"

The current shaft is a lengthed stock Rockwell on both ends. I run an alum. adapter I made to mate it up to the Toyota output flange. I added the extra 1" in length assuming we could lose the adapter. The length would be 44.25" with the adapter.

The front end doesn't flex that much, but the rear end flexes out pretty well.

Hi Jess,

I need a new rear driveshaft for my current project and from what I have been reading yours are the best in the business.

I need a quote with approx shipping to 45247 for a...

Rubicon rear 1350 CV at t-case with a 1410 joint at the 14 bolt axle end with the thickest wall tube you think is daily drivable and won't kill my t-case and axle bearings.

I have a 4.5" lift and 2.5" tummy tuck, will my angles still be ok or do you think I will have to drop the t-case? Can I gain anything by getting rid of the balancer or should I keep it? (Daily driver)

If I order early this week can I get shortly after Christmas or do you think it will take longer?

Thanks!

Tyler

The 1410 c/v is a interesting subject- Our 42 degree c/v is so close many think its 1410 -but its not made for freeway driving -you will need our patented flange to run most c/v's over 1350 -Jess

I was told that the original dodge power wagons used actual spicer 1410 cv joints, any truth to this? My rig is strictly trail, no issue there. I'm not running any cv's right now,but have to limit my travel to keep joints from binding. I need to go to cv joints at transfer case, front and rear shaft. What would I have in just the parts. I ground off all I feel comfortable grinding. I would like one of yours set up for the higher angle and keep this one as a spare. Of course it is trailered so the thicker the tube the better. I'll measure it but it is behind a 203 doubler in an early bronco so it isn't very long, <36".

Tyler

Hey Jess, I'll be needing a quote on the following:

-HD 32spl D300 rear output w/ 1350 CV flange
-D300 parking brake kit
-D300 rebuild kit(mainly need it for all the seals, bearings appear okay)
-AA twin stick shifter kit
-HD front output kit w/ 1310CV(not flange)
-rough estimate on a 1350 driveshaft w/ CV flange at t-case end and 1350 joint on the pinion end. Not sure yet but I'll guess it to be around 21" from yoke to flange? I don't have my D300 clocking ring in yet.

If you can PM me the prices for everything individually that would be great, as I don't think I'll be able to afford it all at once.

Rear:
1350 CV with yokes at t-case and pinion. Length is 33". BTW, I have the dust cap, internally splined, end yoke that is slightly bent where the splines enter. Can this be re-used? I also have the u-joint with it. I'm not sure if I need long travel or not. Please advice. I have leaf springs and SOA.

Front:
1310 2 joint. Length is 35.5". I have an operating angle of 15* for the front...will the 2 joint be sufficient?

Your rear shaft was longer than we feel is safe to run down the freeway -there's a limit on the size of the tube versus the rpms on the shaft- I look forward to the angles- Thanks Jess

Jsfucttruck@rock.com
08-12-2009, 06:51 PM
This is my first frame off build, so bear with me if I didn't do this right.
205 output: 4 deg
Dana 60 pinion: 5 deg(9 deg on knuckle)
14bolt pinion: 22 deg
205 front output to 60 yoke: 33" length
rear output yoke to 14bolt yoke: 70" length
I still need to get the slope angles. I need to address some angle issues. I think the front needs to come down a few degrees(I can take out 2.5deg shims). The rear pinion is aimed up above the output centerline(spring pad replacement time).
I don't know how I feel about a two-piece shaft setup($$).... What could you offer for one?
I could move the rear-end, forward. What length for a rear would be acceptable? I can't move my front of the rear spring mounts without ditching my saddle tanks(to a Burban/blazer tank)...
Is a two-piece shaft common in a Full size chev(80" standard cab longbed) with a 10" lift? You have given me a few things to think about in my setup. Thanks again

Quote plz:

Front: 35" 1410 on each end.

Rear: 39" at about 23-25 deg drop from a Ford 205. The 14B is pointed up at 20 deg. I have not figured out what I can run on my t-case output. Either 1410 or 1350 c/v. The 39" is from a stock 205 output yoke. So I need a recomendation on what to run plus a quote on both options:

1.) 39" 1410 both ends + 1410 NP205 yoke
2.) 39" 1410 / 1350 c/v with NP205 c/v flange and an option for the c/v disc brake set up.

Jess, you've built all my shafts - finally got my scout going with the last shafts you built for me. I think I have too much angle in the rear CV driveline. I noticed the rubber boots on the caps are gone and the grease splattered all around. I haven't even been off road with it yet. So.. what are my options? Going from a D300 to a D60 with about a 25 degree driveline using a CV and the rear diff in line? I know, get a HP D60 :) ..

Probably the wrong thread but hey.. "top" ;)

onetoncv

because that c/v was inteded for off road use only -But we made design changes to allow for street use now -that's where the d on the end comes from durability- Jess

Jess, finally got my rig on the highway and yea, serious vibes above 50 :(

Pm me some details on the damage for one that isn't going to grenade/vibe :(

I know it isn't right but I never ran a CV on my yota but ran it in a cv configuration and it never vibrated, smooth down the highway..

Thoughts on trying a regular shaft? Do I have to change the output on my tcase to do that?

onetoncv
11-02-2009, 08:54 PM
Brandon what is your pinion angle ? The durabilty c/v starts at 600$ range -I'd be happy to Glue it on and balance it if needed - We should be able to use the flange you have - Jess

Brandon
11-02-2009, 09:27 PM
Ran out and threw the angle finder on it, shows right about 25 degrees

If I could drop the drive train down what kind of angle would I need to get?

Reading a bit, I still have my old yota front driveline - can I use that in the rear, D300 to D60? Is that a better option (If so I should have done that first, doh!

onetoncv
11-03-2009, 08:30 AM
Well your maxed out on the operating angle - you need it to be 20 degree's or so this is the included angle t-case angle minus driveline angle like on our tech section talks about on the web site - toy stuff is still going to be lacking on angle capability along with durability- Jess

Would like a price on some new shafts. Putting a full width 78-79 HP d60 ford under my TJ and a 9" 35 splined rear. Both axles have 1350 yokes. My current set up is Tom woods double cardan 1310's coming off my Atlas II. I do have a 32 spline output.
Would like a rough price on 1-ton cv shafts. I have a 7" stretch in the rear and 3" stretch up front. I can get exact measurements soon. Just trying to get an idea on what I am looking at.
