:flipoff2: First real wheeling trip and the rear one tanked on me. It won't lock on it's own but the front one will still lock up. Also the rear locker light won't come on unless the front one is on. No the wiring isn't reversed because it just started doing it about halfway through the trail.;) Then when I went to air up I noticed that the rear solenoid had puked gear oil onto the underside of the hood. So what's the deal? Is the rear solenoid bad? HELP!!!:D

I'm not sure why your rear locker light wont come on unless the front locker is on. It just dosen't make sense unless the wiring is backwards. But I do know it's common for the air lines to purge gear oil after some time leaving a small mess under the hood.

oh man, that blows, that is why I just ordered an OX. Doing my best to stear clear of that crap because I am always the one who that kind of crap will happen to. Good luck on the fix bro, keep us updated and tell us what went wrong, I am stumped. But I have only ever installed one air locker before...

WTF is with the HOMO shit? Sounds like either the seal went out or maybe the solenoid. Can you swap the wiring to the other solenoid? Mine has never puked out any oil from the solenoid, or anywhere else. Goodluck & let me know what you find out.............
Ya HOMO:flipoff2:

I will quickly retract the homo statement because after a little experimenting, turns out that the switchs are labeled wrong. So the rear switch is actually wired to the front locker. On the up side, everything that I attempted and made today I actually did without lockers.:p Very happy, no blown locker.:D

I have had ARBs in front and rear for over 12months and had to replace the rear gears once in that time and i am still using the same seals but i had a prob once with a solinoid and the ARB pumps aren't worth a dime. The wiring isnt the best either. But i still wouldn't use anything else. It is common for oil to be exhausted from the solinoid my rear does it but not the front. I dont hear of to many probs with the lockers over here in Aus but everyone seams to have probs with the ARB pumps.

Have you looped the wire on the switches so you can operate the front without the rear? If so maybe this has fallen off or has a bad contact.

You can also pull the solinoids apart to clean them.

Best way to set them up is use air switches from a truck and do away with all the electrical crap.

I have run F&R ARB's in my cruiser for about 5 years have not had one problem. Between the guys I run with, there are about 12
air lockers, I only know of 1 or 2 problems.
I would not run anything else :D
The only way for me is ARB

That was going to be my first guess. ;)

 If you jump the yellow wires together you can bypass that and use each switch independantly.

I see more pump problems with underhood setups. I run mine in a tool box behind the seat and keep the ARB spare parts in the box too :(.

Ken,

Just a heads up!

get rid of the factory harness!! There nothing but problems
Wire it your self and do away with the rear on first stuff.

is the gear oil puking a sign of bad axle vent?
pressurizing the housing and then turn the pump off so it vents that way?

if you got alot of gear oil in diff sounds like a seal to me..is your rear a 9 inch my chance?

anyways, if ya have a problem with the stock hoses, check out a napa for some hydro fittings and have them make ya a hydro line, Airplane landing gear line is sweet to!!

What have I said? thats right... if the ARB isn't working right... its more than likely installer/user error. not the product. :flipoff2:
