Does anyone use the summit block hugger headers on their sbc? Link to headers (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=11577) I have to squeeze the engine into a flat fender and thought these would work well especially for the price tag. The only thing I am concerned with is the clearence for the engine mounts on the side toward the front. How much room is there for the motor mount? I know it says it wont work with side motor mounts but I dont plan on using the stock ones. Also how is the quality of these. I am not expecting much since they are only $76 but I need them to do their job. Lastly how do they work with straight plugs, is there enough room for the wires without cooking them? Thanks for your help

I USE THEM ON MY CRUZAH. THEY ARE ALRIGHT. THE PLUG WIRES ARE AWAY FROM THE HEADERS, AND I DO USE THE SIDE MOTOR MOUNTS FROM AA WITH NO PROBS.THE ONLY PART THAT IS KINDA WEAK IS THE FLANGE WHERE IT BOLTS TO THE HEAD. BUT NOW I HAVE GOOD GASKETS AND HAVE NO PROBLEMS. THEY ARE A GOOD DEAL OR THE PRICE.THE HOOKER ONES ARE A LITTLE MORE BUT THEY WOULD PROBABLY BE A LITTLE BETTER QUALITY

i have the hooker blockhuggers no clearance problems when i had the v8 in the 2wd toyota.the flange is really thick on these. i didn't like the round weld the put at each port,so i ground em flush and got a better seal.

Do you use the copper gaskets? Does anyone have a pic of the headers and motor mounts together? Sounds like I will be ordering them soon. Thanks.

Earl's gaskets are about the best sealing gaskets out there...better then the copper or aluminum ones too.

I have these headers and AA motor mounts. Works great.
The wires arent as good. I just had to replace a set because they were touching the hot tubes and lmelted and ground out on the metal. But some 90 degree boot wires and make sure they are LONG so you can go under the pipes on the 4 corners.
Good headers for the price.
Also, I frequently burn out my 2.5" collector gaskets. I plan to get copper ones soon, but havent got to it yet. Paper ones just dont last. Right now I have some custom graphite ones that last longer. but still not the same as copper.
