I am having a hard time mounting my ram with my high steer set up on my front dana 44. Anyone ran a ram from the axle tube to the knuckle and made a skid plate for it? seem like a pretty simple way to mount the ram. Will this over stress the knuckle? Pros and cons?
Thanks:D

You've got all kinds of room!

If I was you, I'd mount the ram to the diff cover so that the ram runs just below and behind the TR. You will still have lots of ground clearance.
Running the ram to the TR is much better than running it to the knuckle.
And yes, the cover is plenty strong and the bolts won't loosen up. I've been running mine that way for years.

i might have to do that, i have a rockstomper diff cover so that might be a little stronger to weld to. My ram has no hiems so i am tryin to keep everyhting parallel so there is no binding.

Because of the opposite steering axis of both knuckles, the TR moves up/down front/back as it travels, so either you have to have some bind, leave some play in your mounts, or use heims. This also needs to be taken into consideration when you mount the ram too so that the TR doesn't hit it.

You can run it from that Panhard mount on the axle tube to the tie rod. That's how mine is. With it up high like that, it hasn't been a problem for me so far. Still I put quick disconnects in the hydraulic lines just in case the cylinder took a rock some day. Make up a clamp affair for the tie rod end with stops welded to the tie rod so you can align the front end. Don't weld the tabs directly to the tie rod or you'll be pissed at yourself later on.

We mounted a ram to my friends diff cover, but it seemed to cause a leak pretty frequently. I guess the constant pulling eventually loosened the bolts just enough to cause a slow drip.
