Anyone ever seen carnage like that before.. with the axle breaking and not the birf? and in that spot?
slider 06-26-2002, 10:16 PM how does the rear wheel steering work on trail tough's buggie?
Sarcastro 06-26-2002, 10:51 PM it works well.. if thats what you are drivin at:D
however I'll take a stab at how it fucntions if thats what you mean?
the system is full hydro steering.. kind of on the same order as an extending boom forklift. the other end of the steering wheel is connected to a orbital valve, the orbtial valve is fed by a PS pump, dash switches control gates that direct the fluid to 3-4 hydro rams that are attached to the axle housing and the tie-rods.. depending on what gates are open/closed you get front wheel steer, rear steer, crab steer, and circle steer?.. brent?:rasta:
slider 06-27-2002, 05:21 AM I figured it was some sort of hydro on the rear...but on the front too..COOL.
I guess castor isn't an issue when you never exceed 10 mph?!
I have a few donor sammi's here and was thinking about putting a front axle on the rear...got to work out a lot of details!!!
scwafish 06-27-2002, 05:53 AM Looks like a fun day!

yeah, I think it was azrockcrawler that said " you know you're really wheeling when most everyone that you wheel with shows up with their rigs on trailers e.g. street legal, and you are stopped at least once for at least an hour due to major mechanical faluire of some sort"
Shawn_C 06-28-2002, 08:12 PM We should make a western zuki melt....No reason all those sourthern and midwest boys should have all the fun.
who's interested?

I'm there .. where are you in Oregon?
Shawn_C 06-29-2002, 12:01 AM Coos Bay, right on the ocean actually what about you? We have the dunes here and theres quite a few muddy areas. Nothing really technically challenging though.
Sarcastro 06-29-2002, 11:11 PM Klamath is 20 mi north of the California border.. South Central Oregon..30 min south of Crater Lake
Shawn_C 06-29-2002, 11:33 PM So should we get one organized? Sounds like there maybe some better trails down by you? I'll start a thread and we can see who all may be interested.
