I have heard some good things about them. Thinking about putting one on a 270 WSM.

Most of the people I know who use Muellers are rimfire shooters. I have an APV on a .22 and it is very clear and holds its zero just fine.

Yea after doing some more research I have found that they are mainly used by light caliber shooters.

Ok, So I guess I am looking for suggestions on moderately priced scopes under $200.
4-12 x 40 or 50 or I guess 3-9 x 40 or 50. This will be going on a Browing A-Bolt.

I believe the Leupold Rifleman is available in both of those magnifications. I have a 3-9 on my 25-06 and it gathers light well and IMO it's a good baseline quality scope. The 3-9 should run ya $180-$200, the 4-12 may be over budget at about $250 though.

I use a Mueller APV on my 10/22 and I really like it. I plan on putting the same scope on my .223 coyote rifle as well. .270 might be a little much for the scope to handle, but that's only hearsay.

I read a bunch of good reviews - then read that those reviews may have been opinionated a bit - but ordered one anyways. I've got it on my RRA Coyote and it holds zero and the glass is plenty clear. No complaints here -
