I know you cannot "block" the sluice, but last year there seemed to be more "spectatoring" than actual cleanup work.

Last year ALOT of folks busted their ass cleaning up, but it appeared that a few folks just showed up for the party and hung out at the sluice and ADDED trash that needed to be cleaned up

mebbe a couple of pirate club members would take on the role of Drill Sergeant, to get fthe spectators off their butt and keep the work goin and defer the play till later in the day.

If *everyone* busts ass for a few hours it gets done fast.

I will be up there without a rig. I will probably do what I did last year when my XJ broke.

We walked a few miles of the trail from were I broke to Ellis. Along the way Sara and I picked up a ton of trash.

One thing we always need is more people actually able to haul out the trash. We could use people bringin in empty trailers or leaving their truck beds empty.

Since this will be my first time to the Rubicon I wanted to make sure I pay my dues by helping out during the clean-up. I plan to head up Friday morning or Thursday night so I can have some play time, anyone want to drag a NEWBIE through the Con?

As of last night I now have been appointed Commander of the Turd Patrol by or esteamed club president Mike "Maniac" There will be other Pirates assiting as well and I'll be needing to elect some team members for other Turd related areas of responsibility. You can't look at it that way though, since the PBB members are scattered acrossed the country. I personally am the whole way across the country (PA), but I'd love to see the Rubicon, and Hell I'd even do "turd patrol" if I had to. Someday I hope I'll have the resources and time to be able to see it. You guys are lucky in that way, so do your part to keep it open!

well i just got into town for a bit and signed up. i'm unfortunately about 50/50 at the moment due to issues at work. i will do all in my power to make it. anyone have a good map on how to come in from the side where the clean-up is. i have only made it to the mckinney side for the fotr weekend.

i need a map to the trailhead. i have yet to run the con. i went to the fotr weekend aug 18-19 but it was on the tahoe side. don't think the ranger will make it in from that side. not sure if i can make gatekeeper(never saw it) but i will try to make it.

Shon- It was great to meet you today at Todd's place <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> To get to Loon, take Hwy 50 east and exit at Ice House Road. The exit is about 15 min past Pollack Pines. Follow Ice House (about 30 miles) to the Loon Lake turn off (right turn) go about 5 miles and you're there <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
