I need to straighen my draglink and tierod before a Friday day run. Anybody know where I could get on a tubing bender close to downtown sac on Thurs?

Thanks, SeanP

I'll just give myself this right now: <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/flipoff.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

I have a harbor freight PIPE bender. Will this work?...How close to downtown were you looking?

No need for a bender, just use a BFH

I use a BFV (vise) to occasionally straigten out my tie-rod <IMG SRC="smilies/eyemouth.gif" border="0"> .
Its not perfectly straight, but it doesn't have to be.

I have .180 wall DOM in my steering, BFH isn't going to do it.

Citrus Heights isn't too far. Is that bender available this afternoon?

Thanks guys

I have a harbor freight bender. it's not going to work regardless. Just get a new tube and put your pitman arms on it. Once the metal is bent it will bend easier the next time and the next time after that and so on. After you bend it back it'll be weaker then it was from the first bend. The properties of the metal have already been over whelmed by whatever you've done to it. Unless your just trying to sell it to some sucker I wouldn't recommend bending it back

I'm straightening it out and sleeving it with another .120 wall DOM tube. Should beef it up quite a bit until I build a new steering setup this winter.

If you want to bring it to Fair Oaks, I can put it in my press... I have straightened several tweaked quarter-inch wall drag links this way.

I'm busy with a Cal4Wheel meeting between 7:00 and about 10:30, but if you leave a message on my voicemail and don't mind a late-night garage session, we can squeeze it in after that.
