Who makes it, how much does it cost, and where can I get it? I'm tired of having 5 fawking gun cleaning kits, most of which use different threaded adapters so they're not swapable. :mad3: Since buying the AR, I need to pick up the brushes and stuff for it, and was wanting to get one of those cleaning boxes that holds the gun and has the adjustable center support to hold the AR in the "open" position, without taking it all the way apart, but still be able to hold my other rifles and shotguns as well. It doesn't need to come with the solvents and lubricants, since I have all that stuff already, but if it does, that's fine too. So, who has a "kit" that contains the holder, crap that goes with it, and can handle anything from pellet guns to 12 gauges, all in one kit? I'm sure it will have different sized rods to handle the larger bores, and that's fine, I'm just looking for a total solution so I can stop dragging out 3 different kits every time I want to clean my guns. Of course, I know it's not going to be cheap, but I also don't want to spend hundreds of dollars just because of the name on the box if there is another less known company that makes the same quality product for less, that's why I posted it here. :D I figured if anyone had the low down on a quality rig on the cheap, it'd be y'all. :D

who uses a rack to hold a gun while cleaning?? :flipoff2: I just lay mine on a towel on a table.
But for storage/organization of brushes and chemicals, I've got a generic kit from wal mart that I've been using for years. Comes with brass rods, adaptor for larger size brushes, and an assortment of cleaning tips. Plus it's got dividers for different brushes or tips or whatever.
For solvents, I use an old 7.62x54r mil-surp galv. ammo crate with the top cut off.

For a holder use this with rubber pads.

I am not too happy with a one kit does it all idea.
I have a ton of M16 and M240 cleaning kits, but really don't like the sectional rods, no matter how carefull you are the joints can still damage the barrel.
I use a one piece t-handle rod, think its 8-32 thread.
Have a set of multi caliber jags, .17-.45cal, it came in a plastic flip top box.
And then an assortment of bronze brushes. Buy them by the bag.
I have a Plano fishing tackle box to store cleaning supplies in. the bottom compartment is large enough to hold various chemical, baggies full of qtips, pipe cleaners, and patches.
The "lure" compartments make it easy to keep small pieces organized.
The two longer (knife??) compartments work for tools.
