View Full Version : What is your fuel expense to JV?
It's going to be high this year.
Last year it was $110 round trip for the toe rig and $80 for the rig.
I figure if we bitch about it now, it won't be so bad when we have to fill up!

About $200 roundtrip. Taking the scenic route over t-day though.
$1100 roundtrip in the old gas pig towing last year.
With the new diesel I'm hoping $6-700
Wish I lived closer...
anyone have work for a fabricator, blacksmith or industrial electrician.
If I come down I-5 or 99 (and not 395) through Bakerspatch, Tejon, Gorman on to Hwy 38, I figure its $750 round trip. OO-EE that hurts. It was a lot cheaper when I lived in So Cal, not No Cal.

for me it is about $60 for the tow rig. but I fill up for about $100 and I always fillup before going. when I bring the Jimmy out I spend about $100 for the weekend on just that. Not too bad.I am only 100 miles from the hammers.

I left yesterday from Tacoma, Wa. picked up a jeep cherokee, hauled it to Las Vegas for a customer, it paid $$$$$. Going to pick up my buggy in Fresno tommorow, going to the hammers til' sunday then hauling a hendrix chassis north strapped to my buggy, it pays $$$.
My fuel, rooms, food and entire trip is paid for and then some.

Just occurred to me... I spent less $$ in 2-1/2 weeks in Europe, including roundtrip airfare for two, a few years back, than I did in four trips to the west coast last year.
Don't tell my wife.

I guess I don't have it so bad, about $75 in diesel and maybe $30-40 in gas. Just starting to use propane so not sure of my expense on that yet. It's a fuel, right?

Mine is just for camp fuel, though I was eyeballin' the forklift at work since I've got my rig parked here for the week....The fork is gettin' kinda old and we could really use a standup replacement :)

I just returned. 1460-ish miles round trip. Counting filling up here at home, I put 6 full tanks in the Chevy...at about an average of $65-$70 per tank = a little over $400.
Oh, there's a station west of Twenty Nine Palms that had diesel at $3.79, the highest I saw (I passed on it, btw!).

About $120 in diesel and $60-75 gas depending on how much we run.
Like some others, I never think about it. It's WAY cheaper than a weekend at the coast with my wife. :D

I use about $75 in Diesel and $40 in Propane. That's counting the propane in the camper. When I retire I'm planning on moving out to the 5 acre lot I bought in Lucerne Valley. It's about half an hour from the lake bed!
I wanted to buy the lot on the dirt road in to the lakebed that was for sale last spring :)
That'd be kick ass... make it a campground with showers and cabins for rent.
