I found today that my solenoid for my ARB is spitting out gear oil. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem, or is it a problem at all. I would think that it shouldn’t do that. It is not much, just a mist when it vents. Let me know if I should do something about it or just let it be.

It looks like it's pretty normal. It isn't very much right? I just have to figure a way to contain it so that I don't paint the underside of the hood.;)

Your ARB seals are letting diff fluid leak into the lines, and creep up the lines, back up into the solenoid every time you let the pressure out.

Mine does it in my 8.8. I called ARB, and had them send me little elbow fittings that screw into the solenoid, and let you run some more blue line down to the bottom of your rig, so you don't get diff fluid blowing all over your engine compartment.

They think the problem with the 8.8 is that the vent line is on the opposite side of the carrier bearing that doesn't breath, so pressure is building up in the diff and passing by the seal, and up into the line. At least that's what they think. They offered to drill the other axle tube to see if it is a remedy.

You can try putting new seals in it. I've also heard that a bent housing will cause blowby.

good luck
