I am helping out my brother lifting his FJ 100 ( 1998- model with hydraulic suspension:) ).
Searched the forum did not find much on FJ 100....I know it s not the extreme trail rig.
Would a 2" suspension lift allow to fit in 35" on the FJ 100 ?
Truck is a daily driver...which suspension would you guys recommend : Old Man Emu?
What would be needed to convert from the existing hydraulic suspension ( accumulators) to stanards spring and shocks.
Thanks

A 2" OME lift is the only lift available for the 100 Series. Several people have managed to fit 35s though by lowering the bumpstops to limit uptravel. Check out the following sites for more information.

YOu can also override the hydro suspension on the LX470 to make it stay in HIGH mode. That will give you enough lift for 35's if you use 1" spacers in the front as well.
This is what Slee's looked like when he did that.
BTW, we loaded that sucker down with gear for 3 and 3 adults and off-road wheeled it all over British Columbia and the Hydro suspension held up great.

Thanks will check it out. With the 2" OME will you get rid of the hydro suspension....
I guess Trxus 35" would be good for daily driving and moderate trail tackling.
I am surprised the hydro held up well.....

Run the hydro stuff. That is a no-brainer once Slee clues you in on the mod to trick the computer.
Trxxus is a good tire. Cant go too wide and still get the 35s to fit.
They will rub still, but not too bad.

If it is a Lexus, it is hydro. If it is a Landcruiser it is a regular suspension (in the US and until 2006)

You could try running a narrow 35" tire and run a shorter lift. Interco makes the SSR radial tire in a 35x10.5 size

It is a Landcruiser with a lot of the Lexus options( You Toyota models differ overseas).....how can the computer be tricked ?
What will be needed to get rid of the hydro other than springs and shocks ?

You also need to buy some of the 1.25" wheel spacers or they will rub like crazy in the front on the upper arm. I know, I went through this crap on mine.
I thought Slee had the hack on his website. I see that it is no longer available. Ahhh! He's selling a part to do it now http://sleeoffroad.com/products/products_switches.htm
