'87 Cherokee doesn't have a T5?? That's what I'm looking for. Or something else that is a straight swap.

T5 is ford. Look at a mustang GT. Are you looking for a longer gear on the highway or lower first? Is your tranny shot?

You can also get a Jeep T-5, an S-10 T-5, and about ten others, plus a T-4 can be converted to a T-5 with the addition of 5th gear, stay away from Firebird T-5's they were mounted on an angle. A World Class T-5 would be a good swap, Mustang GT, I think.

Yes, trans is shot. This in an '86 CJ stock 5-speed. It's a T5 right??:confused: Don't know much about Jeeps, it's for a friends rig. Just need a decent trans that will be a straight bolt in.
